Wyoming Ranch Horses is located near Casper, Wyoming.  I will  customize the training schedule to fit the needs of your horse.  I generally take thirty to forty days to put a good start on a young horse.  If I feel your horse isn’t ready for this much training, I’ll let you know.  I am careful to not ask too much of young horses, either physically or mentally. Many of my clients bring their young horses for a two week session when they are yearlings or two year olds, turn them out, and bring them back at a later date.

Older horses, four years and up, may benefit from longer training times, particularly if you would like your horse to gain more experience in ranch activities. The large ranches in the area provide opportunity to put miles and hours on a horse.  I regularly take client horses to the ranch to move, rope, doctor and brand cattle.

Horses are generally given a 12 by 12 stall with access to an outside run.  Good quality hay and any supplemental feed must be supplied by the owner.

Our training facilities may not be the fanciest you’ve ever seen, but your horse will get ridden! Horses in training are regularly trailered to the ranch, where they are a part of everyday ranching duties.

Spring time affords lots of pasture roping of calves.  I have a quiet approach to roping, avoiding as much stress as possible on horses, livestock and people.  I concentrate on teaching rope horses to have confidence and place themselves in the best position for roping without getting nervous or scared.
